PLC (Power Line Communication) is a communication method that uses power lines to transmit data and signals.
The PLC-IoT solution is based on the IEEE 1901.1 standard, adopts PLC network IP based on Mid-band PLC technology, adds an IPv6-based UDP transport layer, and opens PLC channels to third-party applications to meet the needs of multiple applications to access the PLC-IoT network.
PLC-IoT technology directly reuses power lines for data transmission, without the need to deploy additional communication lines, greatly reducing deployment costs.
PLC-IoT is an innovative practice of applying PLC in IoT scenarios. Based on HPLC/IEEE 1901.1, PLC-IoT is a mid-band PLC technology oriented to IoT scenarios. It resolves problems such as signal attenuation and interference on power lines. In the meantime, it implements IP-based communication.
Category | Frequency | Standards | Highlights | Application |
Mid-band PLC | 0.7 to 12 MHz | IEEE 1901.1 | Low latency and high reliability. Rate: 150 Kbit/s to 10 Mbit/s Latency: <50ms Reliability: 99.999% |
IoT scenarios with high reliability and real-time control: smart meters, smart lightings, lamp control, etc. |
·The PLC-IoT is a wired solution, with more stable communication and longer transmission distance. ·Signal communication can be achieved based on electricity, wider application scenarios. |
·Signals are transmitted through power lines, no need for rewiring, easy installation and low cost ·Easier and less expensive to operate and maintain. |
With the combination of PLC-IoT technology and LED Lightings, we can achieve multiple smart functions in centralized management, such as remote control, automatic timing control, data collection, real-time monitoring, failure detection, etc.
